Two planks and two sticks in Duluth, MN

Jen and I got away to Duluth, MN.  It was unexpected and instead of over thinking what we should do when our original plans got canceled, we booked a hotel room and loaded the car with outdoor equipment.     This is the first trip we’ve taken together that has zero work related business since before our kids were born.  It was long overdue.

The sky was clear and the trails were perfectly groomed.

Blue Sky. Beautiful Birch Trees. Perfect trails.

Skate skiing is exhausting.   As the shadows got longer, we rounded one of the last bends.

Here I am wondering if my skis are really this slow or is it just me?

We ended our day with some good trail mix followed by some spicy Thai food.    What a perfect way to spend the day with my awesome wife.

Away time without the kids is AWESOME & a rare treat for us as well, the last time we had it was 2 years ago for our anniversary, the destination…Fruita Fat Tire Fest, fell the same weekend as our 18th anniversary, this year will be the big 20 but may be spent at home in our newly re-modeled basement as that’s where all the $$$ went this year! Looks like a great time being had in Duluth, I’d love to see that country someday by bike or canoe.
